Not too much
Has been going on lately. We did have our housewarming party this past Saturday and other than the nasty rain (which thankfully blew over at about 4) we had an AWESOME time! We are soooo blessed with amazing friends. I can't believe I didn't get any pictures! Errr. I guess I was too worried about playing hostess and mingling with everyone. I did manage to snap a few of the precious doggies though. Of course, I think they are the cutest things ever and always take pictures of them doing absolutely nothing and thinking its the sweetest thing, ha. All moms can understand I guess :) Nick's work counterpart, but great friend as well, Liz brought over her dog Smooch, who is a french bulldog. All the pups had a great time and were WORN OUT that evening and the next day.
Smooch! :)
Tux was born a Cowboys fan, naturally :)
Mean uncle Nick threw Parker in the pool! :(
He didn't mind :)
The boys are spent!
We are going camping at Lake Murray in Oklahoma with 5 other couples this weekend! Should be a great, but HOT time.

Ahhh...
Why do I always get in over my head with things?? Lol. So we decided to have a housewarming party this Saturday. Why? Don't know, just felt like the thing to do since we've been here a couple of months now. We decided to tackle completely redo-ing the front yard. Ahem.
Pulling up ALL the weeds and bushes I decided 'didn't go'. Replanting pretty ones in the holes. Numerous trips to Lowe's and Home Depot and back. Got 4 bags of mulch and I didn't like the color. I wanted some like our neighbors. Ok, back to get that kind. Deciding where the crepe mertles should go. Deciding I didn't like them in that spot. Nick - uproot, re-dig hole. Deciding that one won't get enough sun. Nick - growls, does it again. Deciding I want bricks around the edges. Nick- side of house wheels them over in clumps for me :) thanks hun. Nick- deciding for me that he is NOT re-digging anything else, I have to like it. Me- fine then it will look like crap. Us- done for the day, we'll finish in a few days. THEN...the unthinkable happens.. RAIN. Can't work outside.
It is now Friday, one day away from our party and we have unfinished yard work, things not hung up giving 'bare' look, shelves that have been a pain in the rear since day one. Only have one bracket up and a hole to where the other side should go. Gave up on that 'for now' about 3 weeks ago. The bedding I have been dying to get only has a few items here and there at the dept. stores but I can 'order online for more options.' Yeah I have about a day for it to get here. Hmph.
So, needless to say we have about 30 people coming over to welcome us to our " I DON'T KNOW WHY WE DECIDED TO DO THIS, AND NOTHING IS READY BUT THANKS FOR COMING OVER TO PARTY' party. But, taking it in stride and realizing maybe it was just an excuse to get our friends over and hang out with them :) It should be fun anyways :) At least I convinced Nick to hire a cleaning lady to come over today since I have SOO much to do, I can't even think about cleaning too! ;) muuahahaha. Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Let freedom ring
HAPPY JULY 4TH!!
I'm so happy the sun finally decided to make an appearance today. I got home from a fun mini road trip to Canton yesterday with Jennifer. If you've never been, you are missing out! Sooo much neat stuff! Crafts, home decor, baby boutiques galore, etc. We shopped till we dropped to say the least. Some items I snatched: cutest baby boxers for Kelly's soon to be son, a Texas Longhorn (grr) sign for Nick's 'man cave', 2 shirts, a dress, TONS of jewelry, scentsy scents, a pretty lantern for outside, some books for my classroom, whew! I'm sure there are a couple more items not mentioned. It was a blast! We went for two whole days and didn't even scour through half of it. There are vendors and tents set up at 5 different locations. We made 2 of them. I cannot wait to go back and stay in a bed and breakfast and make a 3 day weekend of it.
We got up today and went to church. The sun was a (surprising) and wonderful thing to wake up to. We started going to Preston Trail Community Church and absolutely love it! Bonus - it's a mile down the road from our neighborhood. So wonderful. Today the pastor talked about independence day, our nations's freedoms and heroes. I have so much to be blessed and thankful for in my life.
Some things I am thankful for:
~My Savior, Jesus Christ. HE forgives me, imperfections and all, and loves me unconditionally.
~My family. Always there for me, through the good, bad and silly decisions I sometimes make.
~Nicholas. I don't have a doubt in my mind God brought him into my world at a trying time in my life. I love you baby :)
~My amazing friends. Love each and every one of them and miss em dearly.
~My precious fur babies. They are a pain in my neck at times, but put smiles and energy into my life :)
~My job. Actually, it's not a job. I love what I do and love that I can make a difference in someone's life.
The preacher today asked, do YOU think you make a difference on a daily basis and consider yourself a hero? I do. Every single day. I love that. It is the greatest joy in the world.
Many people might not even read this thing, but if you do, out of boredom or pure entertainment, reflect on what you are thankful for and have a wonderful and safe 4th of July! I'm off to make my famous (not really) favorite buffalo chicken dip. We are going to have a great time at a friends house for the day.

Woohoo!
I have one follower!! Haha, thanks Jess ;)
Just thought I'd share some pics of when Nick's parents were in town. They now live in West Palm Beach, FL, however prior to that (along with Nick) lived in New York. So, of course we had to do the whole TEXAS thing! I absolutley love his parents, they are sooo fun and sweet!
Ft. Worth Stockyards. Yee haw!
